“I choose shapes and colors for their fixed symbolic interpretation although they may vary from culture to culture. Attached Silent guide, I used the circle which has a universal image that crosses time and crosses cultural boundaries. I sculpted two very different stones that I joined, coupled with colored glass, in a relationship expressing my thoughts, revealed without words, a Silent guide. “

come Art Gallery in downtown Menlo Park to see sculptor SVS2021 Richard starkRunners. Richard’s favorite sculpture garden is his, with over 200 pieces on display.

In his own words:

“For more than 50 years, working with metal in imagined shapes has been my fascination. All the sounds, sparks, flames and smells of metalworking were my inspiration to begin with. Working with stainless steel, mild steel and aluminum has allowed me to appreciate their characteristics – some similar and others totally unique. Most of my work today comes from imagined shapes that I created in my mind and in my sketchbook. Seeing a finished piece is always a revelation.

the Silicon Valley Sculpture Show is scheduled for September 23-26 at the Menlo College campus. To meet the artists, send an email to info@artventuresgallery.com
