Korea’s left wing chicken and beer restaurants are coming

After covering South Korea with nearly 400 restaurants, Left Wing Bar decided to take its concept – hot Korean fried chicken with cold beer – on the road.

A rapid expansion that began in 2019 brought Left Wing to Austin, Texas (it was the first location in the United States); Honolulu; Mesa, Arizona; then in Southern California.

The company’s first restaurant in Northern California occupies space in the H Mart food court in San Francisco. The second opened recently in Mountain View, inside Ava’s Downtown Market & Deli. And the third – the Bay Area’s first independent location – opened today at Santana Row in San Jose. It is located on the CineArts / Splunk side of downtown.

Left Wing prides itself on using fresh chicken, never frozen, and cooking with vegetable oil.

The bone-in and bone-in wings are available in five styles / flavors: Original (crispy fries); Sweet and Spicy (the sticky sauce version), House Special (stir-fried wok with garlic sauce); Go-Bachi (Korean chili barbecue); and Khan-Bachi (teriyaki soy barbecue). You can mix and match two styles in regular order, three styles in large order.

The list of mousses offers regional craft beers.

Details: The Santana Row location is at 3090 Olsen Drive, San Jose; Mountain View is inside 340 Castro St .; and the San Francisco H Mart location is at 3995 Alemany Blvd. www.leftwingbar.com
