2 arrested for murder of Bay Area rapper Lil Yase
Police arrested Angel Butler and Jovante Williams, both 28, in the shooting death of Bay Area rapper Lil Yase.
DUBLIN, California – A man and a woman have been arrested in the shooting death of San Francisco rapper Lil Yase, who was killed last year.
Dublin police have arrested Jovante Williams and Angel Butler, both 28, for their alleged roles in the death of the 26-year-old rapper. The two suspects were held for first degree murder.

San Francisco rapper Lil Yase was identified as a homicide victim early Saturday morning near East Dublin’s BART station, Dublin police said.
Authorities say Butler and Williams share a child and lived together in an apartment complex not far from where the murder took place.

The up-and-coming rapper, whose real name was Mark Alexander Jr., was gunned down on November 28, 2020 on the 5100 block of Iron Horse Parkway, about a block north of the BART car park in east Dublin .
He was taken to a medical center where he died of his injuries.
Dublin Police said the motive for the fatal shooting remained unknown, but the victim had had a relationship with Butler in the past.
The rapper grew up in the Sunnydale housing projects of San Francisco. He has made a name for himself on YouTube, where his videos have received hundreds of thousands of views.
